Law and Government Explorer Post 1926

To protect the privacy of our youth, we cannot identify individual members either with their full names or with their contact information.  We can say that they represent a diverse group culturally, and consist of bright, energetic, interested and interesting individuals, male and female, with career goals in law or government.  They relish the opportunities of getting to know, and to know about, their Advisors and their Advisors' professional pursuits and passion for the law.  They enthusiastically participate in the meetings and varied activities of the Post (see the comments below).  They lead the Post as officers, committee chairs and members, they decide the program of the Post, and they determine the level to which they can and will participate.  Each of them brings to the group his or her unique character, qualities, talents, experiences, inquiries, hopes and aspirations.  As a result, the whole of the Post is greater than the sum of its parts.

Here are some of our members' comments about the Mock Trial of March 12, 2009:

"I had so much fun at the Mock Trial! I have never had any experience with mock trials, but with everybody participating as a team it helped immensely and also made it a lot of fun!"  -Stacey

"I really enjoyed the mock trial last night. I feel like I learned a lot more about what it feels like to be in a courtroom, on the spot, as a lawyer. I liked how we had a professional court reporter there to write everything that was being said.... Overall, the mock trial was an experience I will not forget."   -Nina

"I enjoyed the mock trial very much. I liked the fact that we were all able to help each other. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the trial (It was not too casual and not too serious). I also enjoyed having to add some information that was not in the hypothetical. I found the information provided to us during the breaks very helpful (how to enter evidence into the trial, how to make a motion, and the importance of having a clear and detailed transcript). Everyone portrayed their role in an effective way and kept getting better as the trial progressed.... Overall, I enjoyed the mock trial very much and hope to have another one soon. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who made this mock trial possible." -Karine
